Thank you very mulch!

I'm going a bit out of order here.  Matt's parents came about a month ago and did some MAJOR work on the house, but I have yet to photograph it.  Remember this?  Yeah, I don't go in the backyard much by myself because I'm a weenie.  That's not true.  I will go back there, but if I'm taking pictures, then I can't be looking around my feet for potential slithery creatures.  And Heaven knows Nigel needs someone to look after him.  Poor, sweet boy.  He tries hard... Anyways, Matt will get those pictures SOON.  I promise.

Anyways, I took pictures of the front of the house since I have an hour to kill.  A couple weekends ago we were paid a visit from Mom, Katy and Emily.  And of course we made them work.  Job of choice?  Mulching.  In 100+ degree weather.  We're jerks, but they didn't complain once.  Matt was surprised and impressed.  I didn't take any before pictures, but I'll describe it to you.  Dried up dirt.  Weeds.  Ugliness.  And now?

SO MUCH BETTER!  Here's some full view pictures, but you can't see the mulch very mulch (ha ha).

Why, yes!  Those hanging plants are still alive!  And blooming better than ever.  Wanna see the whole porch?  We added some chairs up there.  Take a peek!

All that's needed is a tall glass of sweet tea.  And cooler weather :)

Child's Play

A couple of weeks ago we made the trip over to Mississippi.  While there we took the niece and nephew to the local Children's Museum.  Here's all that we did (at least all that was captured on film...)

Richie milked a cow...

The kids became construction workers...

Lizzie designed a house...

There was a giant game of Scrabble...

Richie caught a catfish...

Matt and Lizzie did some shopping...

There were car races...

And dishes to be done...

And last, but not least, silly faces from construction workers :)
