Unwanted House Guest

The other week when Nigel and I were in the backyard I stumbled across a visitor.  Not a welcome visitor.  There was a Copperhead snake in our backyard.  I snatched up Nigel and ran inside.  Poor, sweet, dumb Nigel.  I'm pretty sure Nigel was close to the snake and he didn't even know it.

We had a guy come out and set traps.  He said to expect the snake to be caught in 10-14 days.  He came back two days later and he got the booger.  MADE MY DAY!  So this little lady is no longer among the living :)

15 Minutes of Fame

Way back when, I mentioned here that Matt had been interviewed for a Darden publication (Darden's website actually calls it a tabloid).  Well, a couple months ago we got the draft of the article to check to see if there were any mistakes that needed revision.  We submitted our changes and about a month ago our mailbox had a copy waiting for us to read.

You can check out the electronic version here.  It's page four.  It makes me laugh that Matt's in a tabloid :)

Cherry Blossoms

We're not the only place in full bloom.  We recently made a weekend getaway to D.C. to attend a work function for Matt's company and the Cherry Blossoms were starting to poke through.  Saturday morning and afternoon we walked over to see them with Matt's family and also met up with a friend from college.  Here's what the city had to offer:

View of Jefferson Memorial with the Cherry Blossoms

A further out view of the Tidal Basin

The White House peeking through the trees.  You can barely see it, but the fountain out in front is green because it's St. Patrick's Day!

We got to meet up with Tyler and his girlfriend, Emily.
And got a picture of us, too!
